In this episode,
Open Governance and Egov is the theme. we are joined by Nibal Idlebi , chief of the innovation section at UN-ESCWA and Alessandro Bozzini policy analyst at the OECD, open government unit. Recently the UN-ESCWA and OECD published a new report titled The Economic and Social Impact of Open Government Policy Recommendations for the Arab Countries report In this episode, we discussed the findings of the report and dive deep into the topic.
We started the conversation by reexamining a few concepts and understanding their meaning. For instance, what is the difference between open government and e-government and is e gov only about services? This is what our guests had to say
Next, we tackled the current situation in North African countries, what is needed to build momentum for open government culture.
We also examined the need to act both on local and national levels and the benefits of each approach. Regarding the measuring or impact, our guests introduced us to the used methodologies and indicators, while emphasising on the importance to be aware of the involvement of different factors. Finally, we looked into current and potential steps to advance open government in the region, how long term strategies may help and how partnerships and regional framework could be used to encourage involved stakeholders to move forward.
Dans cet épisode, notre thématique est bel et bien: Open Governance et Egov. Nous nous sommes entretenus avec Nibal Idlebi , chef de la section innovation à l'UN-ESCWA et Alessandro Bozzini, analyste politique à l'OCDE, unité gouvernementale ouverte. Récemment, l'UN-ESCWA et l'OCDE ont publié un nouveau rapport intitulé The Economic and Social Impact of Open Government Policy Recommendations for the Arab Countries.
